Site of the week

Square Enix Tokyo Game Show 2007 showcase site
http://www.square-enix.co.jp/tgs07/

I think this site uses some space elements along with the audio enhancing the environment noise that will be noticed in the real show which is quite interesting. The on screen menus metaphors the shops and people moving around increases this sense of space.

Web development diary 1: Concept

The major project theme space that I am implementing is the space within the web site. The web site may contain effect elements made from Flash or with the help of JavaScript to enhance the space within, giving the users an experience of depth and space within a web site.

With the assistance of the topic of the web site being an introduction to one of the top bands in Japan – Mr.Children, the web site will contain a rich mixture of the theme space and the style of the band blend together.

In a nutshell, Mr.Children is one of the greatest bands in Japan. Their sound is essentially a blend of light pop and classic rock. But due to the band's inclination to experiment with various music styles, their sound is constantly evolving. They have delved into various types of rock as well as jazz, blues, folk, country, and dance. Despite this constant change, however, their music has progressed successfully, proving them to be a versatile band that can last.

Due to the wide music styles the band had went through, it is impossible to define a specific style of obvious category of which they belong. However all of their music is the result of diverse, soft, acoustic instruments, deep low-key vocals, intelligent lyrics and an acute sense of music that makes a soft layout of a site to best suit the band.

Below is the flow chart planning of how the web site will work. This is an early stage of planning and the final product may vary with extra structures to enhance space in “an overlapping personal space” sense of space within the web site.

Flow Chart Planning:
1.Site Layout
1.1. News

1.2. Profile and History
1.2.1. Member
1.2.2. History

1.3. discography
1.3.1. Single
1.3.2. Album

1.4. links

1.5. About the site

1.6. Top

Feedbacks to the concept is pretty well to the "space" element on the site as I explained the structure of the site and how it works.

WebArt & Design Blog moved

Sorry for any inconvenience the old blog have been causing. After checking and confirming from Yahoo!Blog it's been confirmed that only registered users can post a comment, therefore I decide to change to Blogger where everyone else is using. It is a new working interface so the layout may be uglier at the moment but I'll dig into it haha.
